The 2002 Premier NH Jr. Monarchs out of Tri-town ice arena captured the Bantam Tier 2 State Championship and will represent NH at the Bantam National tournament in Charlotte N.C March 31-April 4th.

The Monarchs went a perfect 4-0 on route to the state championship. The first game saw the Hanover Wild come out and take an early 1-0 lead. That didn’t last long as the Monarchs scored 4 unanswered goals to take the first game 4-1. The second game was against the 2001 Edge team out of Nashua and the Monarchs came out on top 2-0. It was on to the Semi Finals against the #1 seed 2001 Manchester Flames. The Monarchs came out fast and jumped to a 2-0 lead on route to a 3-1 victory. Then came the 2002 Edge team for the state championship. For the second time in 4 games the Monarchs found themselves with a 1-0 deficit only to score the next 3 goals. The Edge cut it to a 1 goal game late in the third but that was as close as they’d get. The NH Monarchs with a 3-2 victory are NH Bantam State Champions. The team will now travel to North Carolina to represent New Hampshire in the Bantam national championship.
