How to Create a Practice on the SportsEngine Platform:

How to Create a Practice on the SportsEngine Platform:

  1. After you are logged into the website
  2. Go to the Calendar page.
  3. Once you are on the Calendar page, click on the "Edit Mode" icon on the left-hand side of page in the navigation bar. You will know you are in edit mode because the construction yellow is shown on the page.
  4. On the top of the Calendar screen you will see the button called "ADD NEW EVENT". Click on this button.
  5. At the top of the page you will have the section called “Currently Selected Tag(s):” and a tab that says “Show Tag Menu”. Click on the “Show Tag Menu” tab to open up all of the pages you can assign the event to in the system. The tagging tells the website what pages to display the calendar information.
  6. Select the following Tags to make sure the Practice will show up on the team page calendar and on the main site calendar in the menu bar.
    1. Under the Teams section of the tags you want to check off the team(s) that the practice is for.
    2. Check off the “Calendar” Tag option.
  7. In the “Event Name” field you want to have the team name(s) and the word Practice at the end. This will allow people to know on the calendar this is a practice and not a game. For example: 14U NHAHA 1 & 14U NHAHA 2 Practice
  8. Enter in the Practice start and end time in the “When” fields
  9. In the “Repeats” drop down select the option that should be used for this practice. This allows an easy way to enter in practices for teams that have the same day of the week and time throughout the course of the season.
    1. Does not repeat – means this is a one-time practice you are entering into the system for the team(s)
    2. Daily – allows the practice to be posted to the website for consecutive days in the system until a specific date.
    3. Weekly – allows you to post the practice you are entering on specific days of the week until a specific date.
    4. Monthly – allows you to post the practice you are entering on consecutive months for the same day of the week until a specific date.
    5. Yearly – allows you to post the practice you are entering on the same date year after year until a specific date.
  10. Enter the Arena Name in the “Location” field that the practice is being held.
  11. “Location Has Link” check box allows you to enter in a URL link for directions to the arena if you select it.
  12. In the Description field you can enter anything you would like that pertains to the Practice that you want the team(s) to know.
  13. At the bottom of the page select the “Create This Event” button to save the Practice to the site.

How to Create a Game on the SportsEngine Platform:

How to Create a Game on the NHAHA Website:

  1. After you are logged into the website
  2. Go to the team in question you want to schedule the game for.
  3. Once you are on the team page, click on the "Edit Mode" icon on the left-hand side of page in the navigation bar. If you have older format, there will be a "Gear" & "Eye" icon on the right-hand side of the page. Click on the "Gear" portion of the icon to change the website into edit mode. You will know you are in edit mode because the construction yellow is shown on the page.
  4. A new tab will display on the screen called "Game Schedule" that you want to select.
  5. On the top of the Game Schedule screen you will see the button called "Add a Game".
  6. You will enter in the Home teams, game time, location, and location URL
  7. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the "Create Game" button to save.
  8. Once the game is saved to the system you will need to open up the scheduled game and add in the "Calendar" tag to it, so the game will appear on the master calendar in the menu bar.
  9. At the top of the page you will have the section called "Currently Selected Tag(s)" and a tab that says "Show Tag Menu". Click on the "Show Tag Menu" tab, to display all of the pages assigned to the event on the website. Scroll down to find the "Calendar" check box and select it. Note: The tagging will determine which pages, to display the event on the calendar. 
  10. At the bottom of the page select the "Save Details" button to save the updated game information.
