Boston Bruins & TD Bank Mini 1 on 1

NHAHA Girls U10 & U12 Players Competition

TD Bank Mini 1-On-1 is a youth hockey program in collaboration with USA Hockey, the Boston Bruins, NESN and TD Bank. Mini 1-On-1 teams consist of one goalie and one shooter representing a New England youth hockey organization at the Squirt, Peewee, Girls U10, and Girls U12 levels. Mini teams compete in a shoot-out style competition in their specific age levels and regions. The finalists are then invited to participate in a televised bracket-style event held at TD Garden. The competitions are featured on NESN during Bruins broadcasts and in-arena during Bruins game intermissions.

Hello NHAHA Member Associations!

The Boston Bruins have an exciting season of Mini 1 on 1 ahead and are looking for our assistance in continuing this great tradition and encourage more teams to join them at the state level. There is one significant change for the coming season as the Mite bracket will be replaced with Pee Wee aged players to better align with USA Hockey’s ADM principles.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 18th at 3:40 PM Sullivan Arena, St. Anselm College

  • NOTE: The age classifications are based on the 2013-14 hockey season and not the current 2014-15 hockey season!
  • New Hampshire will host Girls U10 & Girls U12 Mini 1 on 1 competition to nominate two teams at each age division to advance to TD Garden Finals in Fall 2014.
  • Each association registered through USA Hockey may send one team for each age classification to the state event
  • TD Garden finals in fall 2014 will be shown on NESN during 2014-15 season. The Bruins Mini 1 on 1 final competition at the TD Garden, Boston MA will be held in the fall of 2014 (times and dates TBA)

Competition Rules:

  • Each team consists of one goalie and one shooter
  • All players must be registered members of USA Hockey in correct age classification
  • Rules follow USA Hockey’s shootout rules and guidelines
  • Each team will be given three shots. If one shooter scores more goals than opposing shooter within the allotted three shots, the shooters team is winner. If the score remains tied, the shootout will proceed to ‘sudden death’ format.
  • Play down bracket formula used until one team remains in each of four age classifications.

There is no cost for the New Hampshire Bruins Mini 1 on 1 play down or final competition being held on October 18th.  It’s completely voluntary for an association to send teams to this event. The only requirement we want to make sure is that the team(s) can make the play down and final competition in Boston if selected. All travel arrangements and expenses are the complete responsibility of the player’s parents/guardians for both of the events.

To participate in the New Hampshire Boston Bruins & TD Bank Mini 1 on 1 play down competition, please send the following information with regards to your team to Bobby Rodrigue (bobby.rodrigue.60@gmail.com) by October 17th.

  • NHAHA  Association Name
  • Age Level 2013/14 Season (Girls U10, Girls U12)
  • Each Player’s Full Name and Position (Goalie or Shooter)
  • Each Player’s contact information (parent name, phone and email)

It will be the responsibility of the association to select their teams in each age division using their best judgment or selection process to send them to the state play down competition where brackets will be set up to determine the teams to be sent down to the Mini 1 on 1 Final at the TD Garden in Boston to represent New Hampshire Youth Hockey.
